How to Become a Coach - Steps to Certification

  1. Acquire appropriate CPR/AED Certification
  2. Acquire appropriate First Aid Certification
  3. Acquire appropriate Concussion Management Certification
  4. Complete the “Child Abuse” online course
  5. Complete the “School Violence Prevention” online course
  6. Complete a DASA course
  7. Fill out appropriate paperwork for “Hiring” at the Rockland Central Office (Phone: 845-439-1500 ext. 7201). Set up an appointment with Marlyn Peters, District Clerk, to be fingerprinted (Phone: 845-439-1500 ext. 7201).
  8. Create an online account with T.E.A.C.H. Scroll down to the bottom to create an account.
  9. Apply through your newly created T.E.A.C.H. account for a coaching certificate for the appropriate sport. Check BOCES Approve. 
  10. Contact Athletic Director Christopher Hubert by phone at 845-439-1500 ext. 7701) so the district can add the appropriate information to your application.
