About Us

Welcome to Rockland Central School District.

Located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, Rockland serves around 600 students Pre-K through 12th grade. The district spans more than 260 square miles across three counties and nine towns. The district is primarily in the town of Rockland in Sullivan County and includes portions of the towns of Callicoon, Fremont, Neversink and Liberty in Sullivan County; Andes, Colchester and Hancock in Delaware County; and Hardenburgh in Ulster County.

The district formed in 2025 following voter approval of a merger between the Livingston Manor and Roscoe central school districts. Both buildings, built during the Depression-era Works Progress Administration, remain in use, with the Roscoe building serving as the elementary school, serving pre-kindergarten through sixth grade students, and the Livingston Manor building serving as the middle/high school, serving seventh through 12th grade.

Rockland student-athletes compete in Class D of the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association in Section IX. Sports are offered at modified and varsity levels, with some sports offering a junior varsity level as well.
